Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD) is an annual awareness day on May 28 to highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene management.  It  is essentially instituted to contribute to efforts towards contributing to a world in which no woman or girl is held back because of her period. This year, it is observed under the theme: “It‘s Time For Action”.

In a build up to the commemoration of this year’s MHD, Bridge for Equity seeks to organise a convergence of 50-100 stakeholders, advocates, partner organizations, emerging leaders, gender activists, men and women alike for a 3 day virtual conversation.

Each discussion will be done under the theme: Redefining Menstrual Health: The Way Forward In A New Age” to address how to take action to end period poverty and stigma.

The webinar will be conducted via Zoom, and transmitted live via our social media platforms.

A post-discussion strategic development plan will be collated from submissions from this program.

The event outcome is intended to offers an opportunity to actively advocate for the integration of menstrual hygiene management (MHM) into global, national and local policies and programs. This aligns with our mission of advocating for readily affordable and accessible sanitary pads.

This discussion seeks to present an avenue for

  •  Exposing the general public to the unseen problems associated with Menstrual Health such as period poverty
  • Finding a one-stop solution to ending issues associated with menstruation for young girls in rural Ghana.
  • Creating an enabling environment for the local production of sanitary products
